Fix The Door Handle

The looseness of a door handle can be due to the prolonged use of a particular entryway.

If it is a threaded shaft you will have to twist the shaft s handle to make it flush with the door.

Fixing a broken car door handle. Using either a screwdriver or allen key loosen the set screw and remove the handle which will uncover the shaft. Inspect the insides of each handle making sure both move when the handle is lowered. It may be on the underside of the knob.

In most cases you ll only find these screws on one side of the door but check to see if you have screws on both sides you need to remove. Every rotation of the handle applies torque to the hardware to fix door handles that are experiencing excessive torque you need to refasten them. Insert an allen wrench into the allen slot on the top inside portion of the door handle. Using your phillips head screwdriver remove the screws that are holding the door handle securely to the door.
